How We Started

Since 1986, we have been successfully serving individuals, families, trusts, retirement plans, and endowments, and providing quality investment advice and investment management.

Our goal from the very beginning is to provide investors prudent and sound advice and management in a non-conflict of interest environment.

Since our founding, we have provided an environment that is personal, private, and exclusive. We have maintained our exceptional service quality and our high investment standards of performance by limiting our practice to a select number of clients. We have been able to provide personal service to each and every one.

When the firm was founded, the primary objective was investment management of client funds. As the firm evolved with its clients, the founder and principal realized that Stevens First Principles needed to provide more comprehensive advice than just portfolio management. Although the company’s main focus is on investment management, we offer our clients much more than that and help them with other financial decisions, in essence, a financial roadmap.

In July 2019, we formally joined with BFSG, LLC. (“BFSG”).  BFSG is a multi-faceted Registered Investment Advisor serving both institutional and individual clients.  BFSG is part of the Focus Financial Partners partnership.
